I-75 Closure Update
UPDATE — 4:22 p.m.: All three northbound lanes of I-75 are now open following the earlier closure. However, drivers should expect significant delays as traffic remains extremely slow in the area.
While the reopening of all northbound lanes is welcome news, the earlier closure caused traffic to build up substantially, and congestion may take some time to clear. Motorists traveling along I-75 should continue to exercise patience, allow extra travel time, and remain alert as traffic gradually returns to normal.
Drivers who have not yet entered the area are strongly encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible, to avoid the heaviest congestion. Those already traveling through the affected corridor should reduce their speed, maintain a safe following distance, and follow all posted signs and instructions from law enforcement or transportation officials.
The reopening of the lanes does not necessarily mean that traffic will immediately return to normal. With a large volume of vehicles backed up from the closure, motorists can expect stop-and-go conditions and possible delays even though all three northbound lanes are operational.
If you are planning to travel northbound on I-75 this afternoon, consider checking current traffic conditions before leaving and, when possible, choose an alternate route until congestion begins to ease.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide additional updates as conditions change.
4:22 p.m. UPDATE: All three northbound lanes of I-75 are open, but traffic is moving very slowly.
🚗 Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes if possible.
Please drive carefully, be patient, and allow yourself additional travel time.
